As the holidays approach now might be a good time for an update on Bamboo Bend.
I just spent 5 days with the Quantico and Belvoir Project Healing Waters chapters at an annual event they put on in West Virginia about 3 hours up the road. People, places, fish … in that order. Wow. Did they ever over achieve in all 3 categories. An absolutely first class event from any angle you look at it. Got to spend time with some great folks. Can’t decide which I liked best, seeing old friends or meeting new ones.
Rode up and back with Doug Rink. For those with good memories, Doug was an attendee at the first Bamboo Bend Project class in 2012. Doug is "one of the good ones" and remained involved and supportive of Bamboo Bend over the years. When his name came up as my replacement it was met with universal support. So here’s the big news. Doug Rink will be replacing me at Bamboo Bend. The change over will officially occur at the fund raiser in June. Between now and then Doug and I will be working together very closely on everything "Bend-ish" to insure a smooth and successful transition. I will be at the class in Grayling in May (especially since it is being held at my house as usual), and I will be at the fund raiser in June.
Doug and I will be at the MFFC Expo in March. Stop by the booth and say hello and meet the next President of Bamboo Bend.
